But while you’re meeting the local creatures, be it in the pub or otherwise, try experiencing snorkelling or scuba-diving on the Great Barrier Reef, Aboriginal culture at the World Heritage Kakadu park, strolling along the long white beaches of the Gold Coast, walking the red sands and sensing the spirituality in the spectacular Outback, brilliantly coloured frogs and parrots of the tropical rainforests, and for the sports fans there’s world class cricket, rugby, tennis and formula one racing events.
